A Day of Thanks

Hello Friends and Stampers,

I hope everyone who celebrated had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Did you go out shopping for the Black Friday Deals? Yikes! I'm staying in! I have plenty of scrappy things to do and I am not buying anything this year that is worth the small savings for all the crowds and traffic. But I do like to hear about everyone Else's experiences, lol.

It's a Happy Holly-Day over at the Loves Rubberstamps Inspiration Blog! I hope you have today off as well.

Okay well it's close enough to Thanksgiving that I thought I would give it one more card, lol. This goes along with our current challenge for Thanksgiving, Thank You, Thankful. I also thought I would try a CAS design, but now I feel like there are layers missing, lol.
Have you seen all the NEW ITEMS that were added to the store? I know the Some Odd Girl fans are going to be very happy!
Have a great day and don't forget to check in tomorrow for Indah's Video Tutorial Post.

So Thankful For You

Hi Friends and Stampers,

Welcome to a new Challenge over at the Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog.  It is only fitting that our theme is a Thanksgiving Themed Card or a Thank You Card.  I would like to thank our sponsor this week, Saturated Canary, so providing the design team with such fabulous images.    Here is mine:

Saturated Canary - Cornelia

Now you will want to check out the Saturated Canary Stamps available at the Loves Rubberstamps on line Store.  Did you know that shipping is never more than $5.99 here in the states?  That's an amazing bonus!  If I start to order on line and discover that shipping is any more than $5.99, I usually cancel out the order.  I hate spending money on shipping, lol.  It's just one of those things I really dislike.  And if you spend more than $75.00 the shipping is free in the states!  I love Free Shipping best of all.

So I obviously went with a Thanksgiving themed card.  I am half Native American Indian so I really love this image.  She reminds me of my Sister.  Who was lucky to have big blue eyes and dark hair.  I am especially impressed with her basket.  I have seen a lot of Native American baskets in the Pow Wow's and museums, so I really like that she thought about how ornate and decorative they made them.  The Indians used berries and other plants and fruits for pigment to color.  If they are watching us now, I know they are loving the Copic Markers!  lol.

This Thanksgiving is going to be quiet with just my immediate family and some much needed rest, football and family time.  I think this is a first for us, but this year I am thankful that it is just us.  What are your plans for Thanksgiving?  Whatever your plans, I hope it is a low stress day and that you have some to relax and just be with family.  I have been loving the "Today I am Thankful For...." posts of Facebook this month.  So much to be thankful for.  And I love seeing and reading what everyone else is thankful for.

I just had an opportunity to go through my blog looking for certain posts.  Wow, I have made some cards and projects! lol.   I was really pleased to see that I  have settled into a certain card design.  It may not be the best, but it's mine.  My husband tells me he can pick out and spot my cards in a line up of a lot of cards.  He tells me I have a specific design style.  I love that!  I am Thankful for all the designers and bloggers out there that have helped me shape my design and how I view things.  I am also very grateful for the sketch makers because without a great sketch, I am at a real loss. And for my followers and my friends who comment, thank you so very much!  You are the reason I feel compelled to carry on when my mojo is low and your comments mean the world to me.  Thank You.

Thanks for Looking and for your kind Comments.

Flying Butterfly Friday

Good Morning Friends and Stampers,

Happy Holly-Day Friday!  I have a card to show you for my Loves Rubberstamps Inspiration Friday Post.

Originally I was going to make the PI Butterfly.  I searched and searched through my stash and discovered I do not have that one, lol.  I do have more than enough PI's, lol, but I thought I had that one too.  So I chose the on a picnic and fussy cut her out.  I used the negatives from the butterfly on the bottom for leaves around her.  I also used some of the negatives from the flying butterflies for inside the card.  It is a bit orangey, but the rain just started to fall and the trees just started to really turn and I have had a pretty nasty bronchitis and it definitely feels like fall here.  So I was in the mood for fall.

Do you have weekend plans?  I am working this weekend but I'm not that upset about it, I do have some time off coming up next week for the Holly-Day and I've got our Thanksgiving planned out.  We are going to  have a quiet one, just our immediate family.  This will be the first one in a long time, if ever... and we are due for a bit of a break.  Plus there is football to consider and you all know how much I love football, lol.  I'm actually very excited and hope there are at least a couple games on Thursday.   But if you are off this weekend, I hope you have plans to get inky and join us in our Challenge!  Also you do not want to miss out out on Indah's video tomorrow at the Loves Rubberstamps Inspiration Blog.  And you want to be sure to check out the New Items.

Thanks for Looking and for your kind Comments.

Shabby Chic

Hi Friends and Stampers!

Welcome to a NEW Challenge over at Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog! This week we are asking you to show us your Shabby Chic or Vintage Designs.  The Design Team would like to Thank The Paper Shelter for providing us with fabulous images and they are sponsoring us this week, so it's double the prize!

You know at first I was a little freaked out about Shabby Chic.  I certainly love it and admire many designers who excel in this style, but I hadn't ventured out in that direction...yet.  I had to go to my "go-to" Shabby Chic expert's blog, Iralmaija, to get some inspiration, tips and ideas, lol.  Not that there are not many experts, but this was the one that was in my in-box at the time, lol.  And I do love her beautiful designs.    but I will confess, someone needed to tell me to step away from the Walnut Stain, lol.  You can not see the glimmer shimmer behind the gal, but the circle die-cut is shimmery.  So find some inspiration and go for it!  Join us!

One of the many things I love about being a Designer for Loves Rubberstamps is that it pushes me to go further, try new things and of course, the Great Products and Sponsors.  We will be having a Design Team Call again in January and we are looking at All styles and All entrees equally.  So you do not have to be a well known Rock Star or do super intricate projects to qualify.  Just think about it for now and keep your eyes peeled for the DT call and of course, I will let you know here as well. In the meantime, check out what NEW ITEMS Laura has added to the store!

For The Record

Hi Friends and Stampers,

Of course I am going to play in this weeks MFT sketch!  I am a Club 52 member and it's so close to the end this year, I can't stop now.  I love these fabulous weekly sketches, if you are looking for a good sketch, check out their weekly sketch and the archival sketches as well.

For this Card, I used:
MFT LLD Journal it - For the Record
MFT Die-Namic Piereced circle stax
MFT - Die-Namic First Place Award
Memento - Gray Flannel
Tim Holtz embossing folder
Pebbles - Front Porch 6X6
brads
cardstock

I wanted to offer some thoughts and prayers for the people in Washington, Ill.  I can't imagine what they are going through.

As for me, I am going to go back to bed now, I woke up feeling rough and it's not going away or getting better.

Thanks for Looking and for your kind Comments

BLACK & WHITE or SEPIA

Hi Friends and Stampers,

It's time for a New Challenge over at the Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog!  This week we are asking you to show us your Black and White or Sepia.  Some time ago, I did my first black and white coloring.  I was nervous at first but I had a lot of fun doing it.  It hung at our local scrapbook store for over a year.  I was very proud of that one.  But I have never attempted Sepia or tried a black and white since then.  I'm not sure why.  I'm still nervous. lol.  You would be amazed at how many shades you can make if you put your mind to it, lol.

I could not believe that my best Sepia Colors were found in a Halloween pad of paper, lol.  I colored them up with Copic E's.  And it was fun.  I hope you will join us and try it out.  I was so stoked about how these came out that I have decided to try this Challenge again for my Friday card.  I hope you will pop in and see what I made.

Thanksgiving is right around the corner and then Christmas!  EEEEK!!!!  I love Christmas but this year the budget is saying we must dread it's arrival, lol.  But just for now, I want to focus on fall and Thanksgiving and be grateful for all I have.  There is a Facebook thing going around where each day you say what you are Thankful for that day.  I decided to give it a whirl and go back to the First and think of something to be Thankful for each day.  Wow, it was hard to pick just one thing a day.  I might have to do this everyday!  lol.

I hope you check out what NEW in the store and also, don't forget to Blog Hop for a chance to win a prize!  You can hop up until Saturday.

Thanks for Looking and for your kind Comments!

Zombie Birthday

Hi Friends and Family,

Just popping in to share a card I made for Joe's Birthday today.  Believe it or not, while I was working on this card, Joe was watching an episode of, "The Walking Dead."  Zombies are the rage right now, so I bought him a Walking Dead graphic novel and a toy figure zombie.  Since the kids are into whatever he's into, I bought them little action figure zombies as well, lol.

I saw Nancy's post on her blog Here, and I knew this would be the perfect stamp set for his card.  Plus Reed was a Zombie Killer for Halloween this year, so I am planning on using them for some scrapbooking as well. I stamped the images onto the Simple Stories designer paper and then I stamped them onto Copic Paper, colored them with Copic Markers, fussy cut them out and then adhered them onto the the stamped images.

I hope you are having a Monster of a Holly-Day today and to any Vet's reading this, Thank You For your Service!

Gold in the Sand!

Hi Friend and Stampers!

Good Grief it is Friday!  I knew it was Friday and forgot it was Friday all at the same time, lol.  I was suppose to be off work today but decided to throw in some Overtime this morning and that threw me off kilter.  Sorry this is late, lol.

It is a Happy Holly-Day and my Day to show some inspiration over at the Loves Rubberstamps Inspiration Blog.

Now for this card, I am using some New Items that Laura added to the store.  I love my little pirate and even though the loot is suppose to be candy, I decided to make it all gold anyway.  You know, they always show the whole room with Gold pieces and then some Gold has been molded to look like shapes?  Well, these are my shapes, lol.  I made an important discovery going through my stash the other day.  I have Frantage!  Isn't that funny?  I have been wanting to get some for a couple months now and I had it all along, lol.  Dont' you just love rediscovering things in your own stash? lol.  At first I had no idea how to use it and ended up blowing most of it away.   So I started playing around with it and before I knew it, I got into a Frantage Frenzy, but I like how it looks like he's reaching out to it blowing up in the air.

I love these new Rascal Stamps from CC Designs.  This one is Pirate Henry.  I decided to use them this week to show them off and I like making cards for boys because I have boys!  And yes, there is more to come later on.

So what are you making this weekend?  I hope you will show it off in our Loves Rubberstamps Anything Goes Challenge!  And don't forget to check out Indah's Video Tutorial Tomorrow!

Well I am off to go shopping, Laura added some New Items in her store that I don't think I can live without, lol.

Thanks for Looking and for your kind Comments!

Happy Fall Fun Time

Hi There Friends and Stampers,

If I haven't gotten to your blogs to visit, I am sorry, I am still making my way around, lol.  Ever feel like you could use just one more day off and about 6 more hours to each day? lol.

It's Tuesday and its time for everyones favorite challenge over at the Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog - Anything Goes!   So here is what I came up with.

OMGosh I feel like this paper was made for this adorable new image.  And I love them both!  This is PLAYFUL HENRY, from  Roberto's Rascals Collection from C.C. Designs.  Be sure to check out the whole collection, I think they are adorable and they are not that expensive as Rubber Stamps go.  And I still got a great quality rubber stamp and inks up really well. This particular image reminds me of my youngest son, so I am hanging on to it for some Scrap Pages and maybe a couple more cards, who knows, lol.  Now the eyes just came round, so I decided to use my Copic Multiliner pen and just color in some eyes with black.  It's a small space and I didn't think I had the room to go full on eyes with this, lol.  I love them so much, I used a different one for Friday's card, so stay tuned for Friday and more adorable Henry, lol.

The square Die-namic from Blueprints 8 is perfect for square cards, I can see myself using this over and over again.  I am really glad I got this set.  They seem a little pricey at first, but when you count how many different dies you get, it's actually not a bad way to go and they all go together interchangeable.  Can I cut a square?  Yes, but I can't get those perfect little embossed edges and the little hash marks, lol.  So I am recommending these for sure.

I hope you have had a chance to check out the NEW ITEMS Laura has added to her store.  I am always calculating out my next payday, lol.   Also if you have not had a chance to hop along in Sunday's Blog Hop, there is still time, you have til Saturday to Hop Along for a Chance to win a Prize.

I cannot wait to see what you enter in this Challenge!

Thanks for Looking and for your kind Comments!

Hello Friends and Stampers,

Boo!

Hello Friends and Stampers,

Did he scare you?  lol.  No, of course not, he's too cute to spook!

Happy Holly-Day Inspirational Friday!  I hope you are celebrating this weekend off with me and will join us over at the Loves Rubberstamps Blogs.  It's time to get inky and use those up those Halloween stamps for the chipboard books and scrap pages for the pic's we all took last night right?  Okay, I know, they go in the pile with all the other years, lol.  Me too, lol.  But on the off chance that you are still wanting to ink them up, please join us in our current Challenge - Halloween Theme!

OMGosh he is so cute and he was so fun to color!   He reminds me of my youngest son who always loved to dress up all year round and then play the part. I have to say I love this pumpkin as well, it was a lot of fun to attach the face parts and so much cleaner than the real deal, lol.  I am using the already expired Sketch Design by Karen, SSS195.  I just loved this one and did not want to miss out on using it.  It's perfect for larger images.

I hope to see all your fabulous cards and projects over at the Challenge Blog!  Don't forget to check out the NEW ITEMS in the store!

Hard to believe it is the first of November already!  Wow!

Thanks for Looking and for your kind Comments, I'll be coming around to see whatcha been up to this weekend!
